The mayor explained everything to Daideng and Zhuzi. The matter in question was obviously the responsibility of the office of social management, and consequently Daideng and Zhuzi found that they no longer had any excuse to decline it. Daideng said, âHow did things get this bad? We can't even go to sleep! â She then went to get her motorcycle, but the mayor called for his driver, and told Daideng and Zhuzi to ride in his car, because it was faster. First, however, the driver needed to use the bathroom, and then stayed inside for a long time. The mayor cursed, âWhat were you doing, shitting out a well rope? ! â The driver replied, âI've been constipated for the past couple of weeks, and needed to use a laxative.â
The car then proceeded toward the county seat. After they had already driven fifteen li, Daideng suddenly asked Zhuzi, âDo you really Zhang Gaoyao will come petition? â Zhuzi said, âWang Housheng is inciting him.â Daideng said, âZhang Gaoyao is such a very devious person. Do you think he would respond to Wang Housheng's instigation? âZhuzi said, âZhang Gaoyao is also using Wang Housheng.â Daideng said,âWhenever he has a problem, he always comes to us, but this time he's going directly to the county seat? â Zhuzi said, âWang Housheng called and said that they were in the county seat.â Daideng said, âWhen does Wang Housheng ever go to the county seat and then call us? Why did he call this time? I feel that something just isn't right. Perhaps they are just trying to threaten us, and never actually went to the county seat? Perhaps they are simply at Zhang Gaoyao's house? â Therefore, she said, âGo back, go back.â The driver immediately turned around and headed back to Cherry Town.
The mayor kept calling them them and asking whether or not they had found Zhang Gaoyao. The first time he called, Daideng said, âWe haven't yet gone to the county seat.â The mayor said, âWhy haven't you gone yet? â After a while, he called again, and asked whether or not they had found Zhang Gaoyao. Daideng said they hadn't. The mayor told them to go look inside and around the train station, around the main entrance of the county committee building, and around the main entrance of the county government building. He told them to go to the Chinese political consultative conference, the office of letters and petitions, as well as various dance halls, restaurants, and hotels. Daideng replied, âYes, yes, â and the mayor said, âWhy are you rushing? ! â Daideng said, âI only have two legs. If I'm going to go to so many places, how can I not rush? â The mayor said, âThis case is more serious than the one involving Wang Suifeng. Wang Suifeng was an old problem, but this time the problem could impact the plans for the new factory. If you are not able to find Zhang Gaoyao, you shouldn't plan on remaining in the office of social management.
